These are not easy words to express.
It was just under four years ago that I put my name forth as a candidate to represent Montengarde. At the 12th Night that followed I could not have predicted all the things that would come to pass. This has been an unforgettable experience and opportunity to be your Baron, but the time has come for others to step into this role.
Thank you people of Montengarde for your support, your words, and your trust. These have not been the easiest of times, but you are worth it. From the enthusiasm of the new comers who picked up sword for the first time to the old friends returned after a long absence, you made this journey easier as I shared in that joy. You’ve made me cry (in a good way) many times and for that I am grateful.
For those interested in putting their names forth but have questions, please ask away, if not myself then perhaps the sage advice of those who sat the Minotaur’s Throne before. I will guarantee there is more to this than you expected, both in the labour and in the rewards, but it helps to prepare.
Dates on the polling process will be posted shortly, but know that this is all happening very quickly in order to be set for 12th Night 2023 (January 21st if all goes well). Though you may run as a single candidate, it is strongly encouraged to enter into this as a team to share the responsibilities. It has been an honour and a privilege to serve you the Barony of Montengarde, the Shires of Windwyrm and Ayrsegarde, the Crowns of Avacal, and the Dream that inspires us in this thing far bigger and grander than any hobby deserves to be.
