WHY – To actively promote and display the SCA in a family oriented event
The Barony of Montengarde (and SCA Friends) have been invited to participate in Summer Skirmish! (What is Summer SKirmish? Click here!)
We are looking for folks for set up / tear down of the pavilion and displays, talking to the visitors, and showing off our pursuits (primarily martial, but an arts village would be great as well).
PARKING: Will be a challenge. We can drop off or park in the main lot until 8:15 am on Saturday and Sunday. After that, the food vendors come in and there will be no entering or exiting until after 6 pm. Dropping off early or during Friday evening is highly recommended or alternatively street parking and a wagon to haul things.
ARTS TENT: We would love to show off other aspects of what we do, be it the arts, making things, or even playing period games.
MARTIAL TENT: A display of armour and non sharp weapons as this is a family event and anything sharp will require direct supervision while being shown to the public. Adjacent to it will be an eric for some martial practice in action!
RANGE: Setting up a target for ranged weapons according to the marshals and equipment available.
FIELD BATTLES: We will have opportunities in the big field for showing off our martial activities. Depending on what the Grand Melee looks like this year will determine our degree of participation in it.
