Good Day Barony of Montengarde!
Seeking a Seneschal
Let it be known that I will be stepping down as Baronial Seneschal in June 2025. I will need a successor. I will allow for three months of training time and cross-over and I am willing to stay on as Deputy Seneschal, if required, to facilitate the transition and provide additional support beyond June 2025.
What does a Baronial Seneschal do? Being a Seneschal includes, but it not limited to:
- Central Administration – Seneschal is the focal point overseeing the local officers of the Barony and dependant branches in coordination with the Baron and Baroness. Ensure all reports are being produced and sent to the right people, both at the Baronial (monthly) and Kingdom (quarterly) levels. Follow reporting schedule (see Avacal Kingdom Laws). Abide by all Laws, policies and handbooks. Run the monthly Council Meeting.
- Legal Representative – Seneschal is the interface with the modern world, including any contracts (site rentals is the primary focus), law enforcement or other entities beyond the Society if the need arises (it hasn’t thankfully!).
- Financial Committee Member – The seneschal forms an integral part of the Financial Committee which reviews Baronial expenditures, bids and all matters financial to help keep us in the black.
REQUIREMENTS
- Have a current membership in the SCA, Inc., and must maintain it during their tenure as officer.
- Be at least nineteen (19) years of age, the legal age of majority in all modern jurisdictions of the kingdom (BC, AB, & SK).
- Agree to allow contact information to be published in applicable newsletters and on appropriate websites.
